Bradbury did an
astonishing job by writing a book about the future where everyone is narrow
minded and cannot express themselves. This book takes place in the
twenty-fourth century. The book was written so beautifully that I could not put
the book down until it had unfortunately come to an end. Bradbury’s Fahrenheit
451 was labeled as a “bestselling masterpiece” and I could not have agreed
more. The novel gives a glimpse of life in the future and the changes that have
been implemented on the American society. The future of the American society
does not consist of any books. If any books were found they would be burned.
Ironically, the individuals who would burn the books were called firemen.
Firemen are supposed to put out fires but in Fahrenheit 451 the firemen
commence fires. Ray Bradbury tries to tell us by books being outlawed in
Fahrenheit 451 that books enhance your knowledge and thinking, so by putting a
restriction on any piece of literature the superiors of America do not need to
worry about any revolts because without books the civilians cannot distinguish
if a situation is handled right or wrong. The American superiors or in other
words the government do not want the people to be rebellious and develop new
ideas and observations about how the American society should actually live.
Bradbury has envisioned the United States’ future as a dystopia but also
emphasizes the importance of books and how knowledgeable ideas would not be
brought up if literature has not been read. Books should not be taken for granted;
instead it should be appreciated because that is where we perceive our wisdom.
This blog describes the main theme of Fahrenheit 451. It describes the irony in which firemen are meant to stop fire, but in this novel they cause it. It was also important that you mentioned the restriction of knowledge by the destruction of books. Maybe talking about the mechanical dogs might have grabbed a reader’s attention and interested them to read the book.

ReplyDeleteAfter reading your post, I was able to perceive how much you admired the book. Excellent job on informing the audience of what the book was based on. With the combination of why you thought highly of the book and what the novel was based on attracts the audience even more and gives them a better understanding. Properly written, wise selection of vocabulary words. Lavner Axper.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the way this post was written! First off, I would like to say that when I read this book, I did not enjoy it. With your explanation, it made the book seem much more thought-provoking. That was a quality that I did not receive from the book and I am happy that I was able to see it through your eyes. I understand completely why one would enjoy the book. Other than this, you had a favorable flow to your writing. Thank you for sharing your opinions!
ReplyDeleteMy friend you have an awesome taste in books. Besides that, you have a clear understanding of what the book is trying to explain. These qualities are extremely important. The way you used them in your post makes the explanation of the story clear and understandable. Continue writing in this manner and you will achieve excellence.
ReplyDeleteThis blog post successfully captures your interest in the story line and your views on the themes and symbols of the book, though it may not appeal to someone that may not know the plot of Fahrenheit 451 and is not familiar with the setting and purpose. This analysis lacks pathos to effectively attract the audience and keep them engaged.
ReplyDeleteSako's analysis on this book really showed me how much he enjoyed reading it. I could tell how fascinated he was and how much it moved him. I agree with him that books are very important and should not be taken granted of. The amount of details you've written is perfect and the way you made the writting flow was excellent. Great job, Sako.
ReplyDeleteWell written Sako! I enjoyed reading your blog, though I must note that it was more of a summary then your opinion, and there were a few grammatical errors here and there. Other than those two somewhat negative comments towards your blog, I liked it. And I couldn’t agree more—books are so essential to people our age nowadays and that IS where we perceive our wisdom! It would be a complete nightmare if this book were to come to life !
ReplyDeleteThis was an excellent choice of a book to write about and choose as a favorite. the plot was thought-provokinng and exciting. the way you interpreted the book was, in essence, the way the author most probably intended. I hope everyone who reads this novel is inspired to be opinionated and free about sharing their ideas with the world, just as you were. You transitioned smoothly throughout the post, but I would advise that you use more commas where needed next time.
ReplyDeleteThis was awesome writing Sako! I loved the way you engaged us into knowing about this book and others into reading about Fahrenheit 451. But, unfortunately you did not tell us why you liked the book a lot and your emotions about this book. After all it is ok but great writing and I liked the way you had put everything together! Good job Sako!
